Owners of the acclaimed Wiedenmann Terra Float Air consistently highlight its ability to “go little and often” as the key to its value. With seed increasingly precious, the 3-in-1 pneumatic air seeder can apply less than 1 g/m² with ease.
Super-fast set-up maximises every “window of opportunity.” For clubs with wall-to-wall play, even two spare hours at the beginning or end of the day can be a lifeline for overseeding. The Air allows one operator to complete what previously involved several team members, freeing colleagues for other duties.
To suit the seedbed, operators can choose from a range of hole-making tools, including stars, spikes and cone-shaped options starting at just 5 mm in diameter. Multiple dosing options accommodate all seed types — fescues, bents and even coated seed — with soft-touch dosing sleeves available for sensitive coatings. An in-cab computer stores run data and allows rate adjustments at any point.
Electric-drive technology powers all aspects of seed delivery. Seeds pass pneumatically through eight pipes before landing on deflector plates and into the pots with precision maximising the chances of a successful take.
Because the Air is fast, clean and causes minimal surface disturbance, overseeding many clients reportfrequent during the growing months,
“There’s now widespread recognition that continuous, light-touch renovation delivers better outcomes than one large intervention,” says Michael James, National Sales Manager at Wiedenmann UK.
“Seed is expensive, resources are under strain and renovation windows are getting smaller. The Terra Float Air aligns with these realities. When clubs can overseed at less than a gramme per square metre and repeat through the growing months with virtually no disruption, establishment rates improve, surfaces stay stronger for longer and play carries on as normal. Just as importantly, operators aren’t limited to seeding duties; the Air can run purely as a surface conditioner at other points in the year, helping to maintain firmness and presentation and adding value well beyond overseeding.”
